2021-2022 Kindergarten Registration Process

Moorestown Township Public Schools offer two options for Kindergarten. A half day morning session only and a tuition based extended day option.  

If you are a Moorestown resident and think your family would qualify for free or reduced lunch, you may be eligible for a tuition discount. To determine eligibility, please fill out the Free and Reduced Lunch Application.

STEP1
If you have ever registered your child in the MTPS school district, go directly to Step 2. 

Preregister your child online using our Genesis Open Registration.  If you do not have access to a computer, contact our district's Registrar, Cathy Kain at [email protected] or 856-778-6610 ext. 12019.


STEP 2

Print and complete the registration forms found at the bottom of this page.  Either drop off or mail the following Required Information and the Forms along with your September payment, if opting for the extended day Kindergarten.  Please note, all forms, required information and, if applicable, September payment should be submitted to Cathy Kain in one packet.

Required Information to Register Your Student

Due to COVID, please submit copies only.

  1. Copy of Birth Certificate or Passport.
  2. Copy of Doctor Certified Immunization Record.
  3. Copies of 5 Proofs of Residency
    • If you are currently a resident, bring five documents, such as: utility bills, licenses, permits, insurance, car registration, voter registration, tax bill, receipts, cancelled checks, medical reports, employment documents, delivery receipts, business record, survey, fire inspection, title, settlement paper, homeowners, etc.
    • If you are in the process of buying a home in Moorestown, provide your agreement of sale and complete the Certificate of Residence.
    • If you are leasing, bring a copy of the entire signed lease at the time of registration and four other proofs (within 30 days).
    • If child and parent are moving in with a Moorestown resident, provide five forms of proof of residency and a signed Affidavit of Residency-Child and Parent Living with Resident.
    • If you will be supporting a child other than your own, provide five forms of proof of residency as well as either Legal Guardian documentation or Affidavit for Non-Resident Pupils.
  4. If your child has an IEP (Individual Education Plan from the Child Study Team), copy of the most current documentation.
  5. If Applicable - Copy of Custody/Guardianship Documentation if there is a Legal Restraining Order, Custody Order, Name Change or any other legal documentation.
  6. Copy of New Jersey transfer card, if transferring from a New Jersey public school, with SID# (10 digits).

  3. Physical Exam Form *- physical examinations are required for all Kindergarten and new students.  Our school physician is also available for physical examinations for students who do not have a medical home.

  11. Special Education Forms - for students who are classified with an Individual Education Program, IEP






EXTENDED DAY CARE

The District offers a tuition-based Extended Day Care Program for students in Kindergarten through 6th grade, at our four elementary schools. The program offers both morning sessions and afternoon sessions and has flexible daily, weekly and drop-in (with prior registration) options. The morning sessions begin at 7:00 am and run through the start of the school day. The afternoon sessions start at the end of the school day until 6:00 pm.  For more information, please refer to the Extended Day Care Program webpage.



Welcome Families for New Students

The Moorestown Home & School Association has a Welcome Families team made up of parent volunteers that supports new families transition to our community by personally welcoming you and your child. The team connects new students with other students in the same grade through planned activities or events prior to the beginning of school.
